About Jazz X:
Jazz X is a talented musical group based in Virginia who love many different types of music and the creative process that recording it involves.
Brian Wohlschegel is the group’s main songwriter and engineer. Brians instrument is primarily guitar but is also a very capable bassist and also enjoys layering sonic additions to many of their songs using various keyboard sounds.
Dan Foster also pens a few songs for Jazz X music and usually does the bass tracks for their recording projects although Foster adds “In many cases, Brian will have a dummy bass track recorded for the songs he writes, but so many times, I find that the tracks are so good that I don’t want to erase them! Brian is just an excellent musician.”
The Jazz X debut cd has been played in over 30 different countries and they enjoy a growing fanbase throughout the world.
Jazz X bio:
Jazz X was formed in 2005 as kind of a “jazz experiment” recording project, hence the name “Jazz X”. Bassist Dan Foster, was auditioning guitarists for a new recording & live project to be based on material he wrote years earlier. He found what he refers to as the “perfect match” for this project in Brian Wohlschlegel. Foster states: “Not only is Brian an outstanding guitarist and music composer, but he also had a nice little home recording studio setup, which I didn’t have. We reviewed each others songs and started recording soon after, but because of conflicting schedules we could only get together one day a week. We would squeeze in extra sessions whenever we had the opportunity and within just 3 months, we had enough material for a full length CD. We then started the mixdown process along with some final touches.” The first CD received an unbelievably amount of positive reception and gained us an internet fan base. From fans to music critics to record executives, people liked what they heard. Fast forward to 2011, singer Srea Harrington joined up with Jazz X after auditioning and reviewing current Jazz X songs in the works. Dan & Brian were truely “amped up” to have a singer as talented as Srea is onboard for their upcoming cd. Now to bring you up to date for 2012, Jazz X is again back in the studio working hard on their follow up cd. The working title is “Jazz X 2″, the actual title will be Jazz X featuring Srea Harrington. The sky’s the limit!
